Aluminium alloys
Aluminium as a material becomes ever-more important. The variety of the alloys increases markedly with the continuous increase of aluminium products. In the area of cast alloys, new, better alloys with ever-better characteristics that are fit specifically to the requirements are being developed and produced.
Iron and steel components are, in part, being replaced by newer, lighter aluminium constructions. The integration of components into a cast aluminium part is gaining in various areas of industry.
In vehicle construction and in other sectors one can find more and more new, integrated and functional cast aluminium parts, such as in engines, in the chassis or in body structures.
Grunewald melts and casts various aluminium casting alloys, such as
- Aluminium silicon casting alloys
- Aluminium magnesium casting alloys
- Aluminium copper casting alloys
- Aluminium zinc casting alloys
For aluminium cast alloys that are not self-hardening we are carrying out specific and efficient thermal treatments in our T4, T5, T6, T7 thermal treatment facilities. In doing so, we meet the technical specifications of our customers and also carry our development work.
Due to the substantial experience the employees of Grunewald have, we can, with respect to the desired mechanical characteristics and the castability and economy of an application, support and advise our customers in their selection of material.
